Gauge: 20 Ch stitches in 10 DC rows
4x4”
Materials:
#3 thin yarn (DK 11 wpi)
 I like hobbii tencel double
3.5 mm crochet hook
Safety Pin
Soft measuring tape
Terminology:
SS - Slip stitch
SC - Single Crochet
HDC - Half double crochet
DC - Double Crochet
TR - Treble/ Triple Crochet
CH - Chain
The Heart
ROW 1: (mini heart)
Chain 3, into the magic ring, TR 3, DC 4, TR 1, DC 4, TR 3.
CH 3, and SS back into the loop.
ROW 2: (medium heart)
SS into the CH3 space, in the next stitch, HDC 2, in the next, HDC 2 and DC 1 (this will be one of the rounded top of the heart), DC 2 in next, DC 1 in each of the next 4 stitches, in the next, (DC 1, TR 1, DC 1)(this is the bottom point), DC 1 in each of the next 4 sts, DC 2 in next st, DC 1 and HDC 2 (this will be the other rounded top of the heart), in next st, HDC 2, then sc into the CH 3 space sp, SS in SS from the last round.
ROW 3: (large heart)
SC in the next stitch, HDC 2, in the next, HDC 1 and DC 1, DC 2 in next, in the next (DC 1, TR 1, DC 1), DC 2 in the next 2 sts, DC 1 in next 7 stitches, in the next, (DC 1, TR 1, DC 1), DC 1 in next 7 stitches, in the next, DC 2 in the next 2 sts, DC 2 in next, HDC 2 in the next, SC into the next, SS in SS from the last round.
ROW 4: (edging)
SS into the first stitch, SC 1 into the next 4 stitches, SC 2 into the next 4 stitches, SC 1 into each stitch for the next 11 stitches, in the next (the point) SC 1, HDC 1, SC 1 into the same stitch, SC 1 into each stitch for the next 11 stitches, SC 2 into the next 4 stitches, SC 1 into the next 4 stitches, SS in SS from the last round.
Finishing Touches
1. Cut a long tail
2. With your tapestry needle, sew in your ends
*Optional* Picot edging for a Lacey look
  1. Ch 3, slip stitch into the same stitch, slip stitch 2
  2. Repeat until finished
  3. Thread in all your ends with a tapestry needle
