Free Crochet Pattern with Photos

 

 

Info & Materials

 

The photos demonstrated in this pattern are for an 

S (24-30 waist, 32-38 hip, 5’2 to 5’8 height)

XXS-XS can be made by decreasing the length of the elastics to your measurements and decreasing your stitches by the inches in the gauge

L-XXL can be made by increasing the length of the elastics to your measurements and decreasing your stitches by the inches in the gauge

Gauge: 6 stitches by 6 rows

Materials:

#3 light yarn (11 wpi) (5 skeins of 130, I like hobbii soft bamboo)

LK 150 or standard gauge knitting machine 

OR

3.5 mm circular knitting needles

Safety Pins

Soft measuring tape

flat 1 inch wide elastic


Terminology:

SC - Single Crochet

DC - Double Crochet

CH - Chain

The Top

Row 1-96: cast on 72, with 5X4 tension on the knitting machine or 3.5mm needles (6X6 gauge)

Increase 1 stitch on each side (2 per inc row) on the 8th stitch

90 rows for XXS-XS, 68 stitches

96 rows for S, 72 stitches

102 rows for M-L, 76 stitches

108 rows for L-XL, 80 stitches

114 rows for XL-XXL, 84 stitches

*repeat for two panels*

How to increase on the knitting machine

  1. pull out 1 needle on each side and slide the cartridge like normal

Cast off with preferred method, i like using the latch tool

Side Body Seams


  1. Turn the right sides together

  2. Leaving 36 stitches on each panel (76 total) for the armpit space, either sew or slip stitch crochet the sides of the waist together, (i chose slip stitch or single crochet)

  3. Repeat on the other side

  4. Weave in your ends


Shoulder Seams


  1. Turn the right sides together

  2. Sew or slip stitch crochet the sides of the shoulder together for 20 stitches each side, (i chose slip stitch or single crochet)

  3. Repeat on the other side

  4. Weave in your ends


Optional Picot lace edging

  1. Ch 3, slip stitch into the same stitch, slip stitch 2

  2. Repeat until finished 

  3. Cut a 4-inch tail

  4. Thread in all your ends with a tapestry needle
